The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. Yet their voice goes out into all the earth their words to the end of the world. Psalm 19:1-4

I struggled (as I do more often than not studying God’s word) with the first verses of Psalm 19. The Bible does not contradict itself; I know this to be true. But within the first few verses we have speech poured forth yet no speech. No words yet words to the end of the earth. A knowledge revealed with no sound.

God, always at work, revealed a peace for me and I share with you.

Has your eye ever been drawn to the clouds where you see the physical rays of light shining down? Like you could dance your fingers through the beams of sunlight. The vision speaks beyond what our mouths can describe and our ears hear; as does the warmth we are enveloped in as we step into those rays of sun light.

What in your life speaks to you using no words? With words the true depth and expression are left untouched although the heart moved. This is what the Psalmist is speaking of.

Sitting down to read my Cocker Spaniel snuggles into my space.

No man has instructed the lactation of milk of a nursing mother and digestive system of an infant. Nor has anyone commanded the breaking of a heart at the desperate cry of a friend carrying a heavy burden. Our being knows these things beyond speech and reacts beyond words.

A father cradles the face of his daughter within the palm of his hands understanding her trouble.

A hawk soaring the sky. A pelican coasting in the curve of a wave. A loved one’s last days.

All slice through our culture, language, societies and generations to the end of the earth. From the sweet smell of flowers in a calming breeze to the tempestuous seas of both water and life, God’s language breathes deeper than our English, Spanish, Romanian, Italian etc. He is Creator and reveals Himself to all whether we accept it or not. Paul states it simply, we have no excuse.

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible attributes – His eternal power and divine nature – have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. Romans 1:20

Do you see God around you? Do you hear the hallelujahs proclaimed in the wind? Do you feel the language of God surrounding your life? This is proof both within you and in nature of the world we live, of the God Almighty, the Creator.

Read on, hear the excitement of the author describing the everyday sunrise to sunset. Allow the words to infuse energy and a challenge into your day today.

In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun. It is like a bride groom coming out of his chamber, like a champion rejoicing to run his course. It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other, nothing is deprived of its warmth. Psalm 19:4-6
